Christmas Picture Outtakes

Picture Time, David Style

After Rachel so kindly obliged us with a few dozen family picture shots, David asked to take a few pictures. When he returned, I discovered these, among others:

The Brottlunds' end table, cluttered by my Black Friday list and a coupon or two.

Isn't their wall color lovely?

Tracy has the best sense of humor!

He even caught me, but I had to scoot back in my chair so the shot would be focused.

There are a lot of pretty lamps on the corner of here and there.

David taking a picture of Rachel, who was taking a picture of Joshua as he raced past.

Sweet Rachel: friend, neighbor, fellow scrapbooker and crafter and babysitter extraordinaire!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had Thanksgiving dinner this year On the Corner of Here and There this year with our friends Brian and Tracy and their kids and a few other guests. As you can see, we feasted! Dinner was delicious and the hospitality and fellowship was impeccable.

This is a thankfulness tree that the kids and I made a few weeks ago. I made the trunk and branches out of posterboard and for the leaves, we took those little foamy sheets from the craft store and used cookie cutters to cut out leaf shapes and wrote different things that we are thankful for on them. The kids had so much fun doing this project, and I'm so glad they had to actively think about all of the blessings God has given to us. I hope to do this again next year so I think I might write the year on the back of the leaves and keep them and compare them with next year's.

Belated Reformation Day

We had a really nice, quiet Reformation Day here last Saturday.
The kids dressed up (like they do every other day of the year) but this time as cats. Dabney and I skipped out for a little bit after dinner to go to a Reformation Day party down the street where we threw relics in the river, burned the papal edicts, smuggled Bibles, etc. Dabney had a great time doing all of the activities, then we had a candy feast at home with the boys. Simple but wonderful. Hope your day was great too!
