Late April at the Park

We had a great time going to the park today with Uncle James. The kids got to run around and release their energy, James got some fresh air and time to unwind, and I was able to play with my new toy and experiment with different settings. I LOVE this camera! I just can't say enough about it. I know I also need to be better with my editing. Can anyone recommend good (preferably free) photo-editing software? I've been using Shutterfly Studio, but it's been a while since I installed an upgrade.

In other news, David got his first bike today. He is so enamored with this thing! Ok, I think the word "enamored" isn't strong enough. Is exactly his size and it just looks like him. It's perfect. He can't wait until he can ride and "go fast." If he could sleep with it under his pillow, he would.

Josh decided his light jacket wasn't warm enough, so he found an extra jacket of Dabney's in the car and decided to upgrade for the time being.

See you in May!

Late April Randomness

Sooo, last week, I bought a camera. A real camera. I had been researching different models and searching for a great deal for weeks. Finally, I found a wonderful deal on the exact model I had dreamed about and bought my little Canon T1i beauty (body only) from a professional photographer that lives up in Aurora through Craigslist. So, I piled my entire crew, including my bodyguard James, into our van and took a mid-week roadtrip through the Denver metro area. To make a looong story short, that afternoon I found myself on a street corner in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and looked up and saw this, which struck me as vaguely familiar:

Does it look familiar to you, Mom?

So a there's a quick summary of a crazy long car ride in pursuit of a great deal on a practically brand new big-girl camera. I've been practicing with my new DSLR (I have so much to learn) and harassing my family ever since and that explains the rest of the post.

Check it out! I captured every family member in one post!

Here's my Tim!

Dabney got a 1st grade Jumpstart game a few weeks ago and she and David really love it. They think it's really important because they get to use the computer and Dabney really loves to play herself, but also help David with the phonics and math problems. Josh usually cheers them on.

Hmm. Does David's grin spell mischief, or what?

My big girl and my right hand helper.

Adam says "Hi!"

Josh is by far the most serious of the kids, but he has his goofy moments also.

And lastly, me. The first picture is a pretty accurate depiction of how I've been looking lately.
However, I must warn you, the second picture includes me wearing absolutely no makeup. Please view at your own risk!

Just to Make the World a Little Bit Better...

Many of you know the great influence that Alton Brown has had on my kitchen (second only to Mom) so I thought I'd post a genius video that about cooking eggs that has helped me immensely. I tried to imbed the video here, but it won't let me.

Please click here!

And then click on "Hard-Cooked Heaven".

Have a great weekend!

A Post From Dabney

Dabney was so excited to have Adam fall asleep in her arms last week. She had always wanted to rock him to sleep, but he's getting pretty big and he's really busy these days, so when he finally took a cat nap while resting together on a Saturday morning, she was elated.
Dabney says, "Baby Adam fell asleep in my arms and it was my first time to hold him as he fell asleep."

"Because it was my first time it was really special for me.I was hoping for him to fall asleep in my arms for a long time."

"He's so cute and I love him so much. I'm glad he was born and I love him. He's really special to our family."

Swagbucks Update

Ok, just as an update, I wanted to let you know that last week, I cashed in some of my Swagbucks for 3 ~ $5 Amazon giftcards and I am getting close to another one. I think I will save up for one of these. And eventually this. Anyway, I know you all are out there reading this so you really should sign yourself up and start earning things yourself by searching the web just like you normally would. My other piece of advice would be to download their toolbar, so you can always search in your current window or tab to save time. And every day that you log in to your web browser, they automatically give you 1-3 swagbucks, just for logging in. Really, it's easy. (Just ask Kyle!) If it wasn't easy, I wouldn't do it. Seriously, CLICK HERE and start searching!
