Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas '09! We laid low and celebrated at home without too much stress. We celebrated David's 4th birthday by bowling on Christmas Eve, visited a local candlelight service and came home to birthday cake and ice cream. The kids, as always, opened one present each (it was pajamas for all this year) and they headed off to dreamland, visions of sugarplums and all. Of course, by 8 am the next morning there was controlled wrapping paper carnage surrounding the tree and giggling children, their tummies filled with chocolate from their stockings and Christmas breakfast casserole.

Tim and I saved the 'big' presents for the kids for last. Dabney received a beautiful violin,

David got a guitar,
and Josh is the proud owner of a just-his-size sweet ukulele.

It's the Mellow Show with Josh Giedd!
Anybody seen his iguana?

Baby's First Christmas

Adam totally went for all of his presents and quickly got the hang of unwrapping them. As you can see, his favorite present was Sophie the teething giraffe. They are rarely seen without each other these days.

We had a wonderful celebration and hope you did also, remembering the Reason we celebrate. Jesus has set us free and has saved us from the shackles of sin. He gives us life and so much more than we deserve. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Happy New Year to you all!

I just happened upon your blog and I am amazed at how similiar our Christmas-es were! My son's birthday is right after Christmas and we went bowling on his birthday as well. We do the Christmas Eve jammies gift (tradition from when I was a kid). We normally have chocolate gravy at my parents house before church on Christmas day but this year we added, you guessed... it a breakfast casserole! I know I seem crazy for picking out all these things, I just get excited when someone else seems to be doing the same things we are! :o)
